Rain later but guess what.... drizzle arrived early. We knew it was coming which is why we did a longer day yesterday.
We just had five locks to do today and the girls hopped out to do them.
We had to get them both back down to Kidderminster from whence they arrived by train.
I had suggested that a visit to Wightwick Manor might interest Mallory HERE my daughter looked horrified although the divine Mallory was far too polite, ahem... I think mum we'll be short on time.
Wightwick Lock very close to Wightwick Manor, pronounced Wittock Manor, no wonder the locals don't understand what we say. |
When we reached the narrows on the top pound on the Staffs to Worcester canal, Mallory couldn't quite believe it, she appeared on deck with her camera.... then
A boat appeared out of the gloom, he just kept coming, going past one passing place.
On again. |
This is the passing place. |
So we arrived at Coven, there's a pub here on a bend, called the Fox & Anchor, on this wet Bank Holiday Monday, the car park was full.
We didn't go in but had a smorgasbord lunch which is eating up everything left with sweet potato wedges.
Piling into the car and we took an hour to return to the train station that we had left three days ago. I love this boating malarky.
Late in the afternoon the historic NB Willow HERE came past after competing in the BCN 24 hr Challenge.
